The City of Airdrie chose Stantec Consulting to design and construct the Chinook Winds Regional Park. Through an interactive public participation process, a master plan was designed which included input from the community.
Chinook Winds Regional Park is being designed as an extension of the existing baseball park in the south portion of the City of Airdrie. The goal of this master park plan is to create a premier recreation destination for all of central Alberta. The main element of this park design is a new skate park, which was a priority for the commmunity. Other elements of the design include; a central gathering area, parks facilities, tree farm, playground, multi-use courts, open space, trails and a spray park.
